Gabri Christa's new film KANKANTRI will be featured at Moving Body - Moving Image 2024, on Friday October 11 at 6pm, as part of the public screening of specially selected films around the black body and environmental justice and the black / brown body relating to ancestry and history.

Moving Body-Moving Image 2024
Moving Body-Moving Image MOVES with the times, ever evolving. This year we are not producing a festival, but hosting the Digital Black Dance Ecologies Laboratory, an initiative from Dr. Tia -Monique Uzor. The invitation only Lab will take place from October 11-13, 2024 at the Barnard College Movement Lab.
In addition to the Laboratory, Moving Body-Moving Image will curate a two week long public installation at the Movement Lab with works of some of the participating DBDE Laboratory artists / researchers from October 7 - 10 and October 14 - 18.
On Friday October 11 at 6pm, there will be an additional public screening of specially selected films around the black body and environmental justice and the black / brown body relating to ancestry and history.

Gabri Christa's new film "Sheila" has its world premiere at ScreenDance Miami’s 2022 Festival, featured on January 22nd as part of the “Short Films: Open Call Official Selections From Abroad” at the Perez Art Museum Miami, and on January 28th as part of the “Projection Wall Screening 2” selection at New World Center’s Projection Wall at Soundscape Park. “Sheila” is an experimental short bio doc starring Sheila Rohan, one of the founding dancers of Dance Theatre of Harlem.
